History/
Background

Telescope came into existence as a result of a mutation of the Ryukin during the Meiji Era (1868-1912) and were brought over from China. Red Telescope appeared when the Ryukin’s eyeballs protruded due to diseases. After that, the Black Moor and the Calico Telescope appeared through further mutations.

Features

The Telescope has a body the same as the Ryukin and both eyeballs are large and protruded. Their eyeballs start to gradually protrude a few months after they are born. Even though the Red Telescope is the original Telescope, the mutated Black Moor, mutated from the Red variety, is currently more popular.

Acquisition difficulties

Easy. Generally speaking, the Wakin, the Ryukin, and the Black Moor are well-known goldfish.

Rearing difficulties

Normal. Aside from needing to protect its protruded eyeballs, they are a strong variety of goldfish.
